Interesting thought on my Dog Boarding Kennels

In this day and age when the credit crunch is biting and everyone you know seems to be in fear of losing their jobs, I wondered if there was anyway that we could cut back on spending.

Now one major expense for us is our dog, barnie. Of course we love him to bits and he is part of our family but equally, he is just as large a part of our family budget as our 9 year old son Mike.

Some things we couldn’t cut back on, dog insurance, dog food etc but one area that stood out was the amount we paid when we had to leave Barnie with a dog boarding kennels while we were away on our family holiday.

2 weeks of care in one of these places added up to hundreds of dollars, not to mention the fact that I am not too happy about a family member being locked in a small cage for 2 weeks while we are off enjoying ourselves.

So, I began to search for alternatives and after a bit of hunting around I stumbled across this alternative dog boarding kennels site. It allows you to get in touch with other like minded dog owners and basically act as dog sitters for each other when needed. And best of all the membership cost was extremely low, although I suspect this will be for a limited time only.

I highly recommend that you try it out, we have met some great people through the site and actually have found someone perfect who is willing to take care of Barnie whenever we go away. In return we will look after their dog, perfect and no money has changed hands. In fact we no longer need the site in truth although there are other reasons for maintaining a membership if that is what you want with competitions and information provided.
