For My Dog Which Is The Best Underground Invisible PetSafe Fence To Spend My Money On?
PetSafe produces a wide range of fences to suit the many different types of dog’s and your requirements. This can be a little confusing, so in this article we will summarize which PetSafe fence is the best for any given situation. This article will address; the area you want to contain, how easy it is to set up and the suitability for your dog.
The wireless fence is the simplest and easiest to use, and you can read more about by clicking on wireless fence.
Depending on where you want your fence will depend on which type of fence you go for, e.g. you can get a wireless fence for indoor use, or you can get one for outdoors. The first decision is a very straightforward one, and that is to decide if you want an indoor or outdoor fence. If you want an outdoor fence, then you have a couple more things to consider.
There are three outdoor PetSafe Fence products; stubborn dog, deluxe and the standard model. All 3 are designed explicitly to fulfill certain requirements. Now we can look at their strengths and weakness.
Stubborn Dog
This collar is for the tough dogs, the ones which are very stubborn and never do what you want them to do. This collar if for larger dogs, dogs that are above 20 pounds in weight. It is one of the most powerful fences on the market. The standard kit allows you create a fence which will contain a dog within an area of 1/3 of an acre. You can buy additional wire and extend this up to 10 acres.
PetSafe Deluxe Fence and Collar
When looking at a PetSafe fence you should start here as it will cater for most dogs and most back yards. You can cover an area up to 25 acres so making it a lot more versatile than either the stubborn or standard fence. The dog has to weigh over 8lbs and again be over 6 months old.
PetSafe Standard Underground Fence
The PetSafe standard underground fence was produced with not only small dogs in mind but cats too, it has the smallest collar receiver, obvious to say it is no good for stubborn dogs. One of the reasons why it can be used on small dogs and large cats is because the collar only weighs 1.2 ounces but the weight of the animal must be over 5 pounds. With the standard PetSafe fence you can contain an area up to 10 acres but remember the original kit comes with only enough wire to cover a 1/3 of an acre so you will need to purchase additional wire to extend the area.
The Wireless Fence
The wireless fence works in a different many to the underground fence and produces a fence up to one hundred and eighty feet in diameter. If you want to increase this area then you can buy another transmitter which doubles this area. We love the wireless fence because it is so simple to set up. The downside is that you are not as flexible with your boundaries as you are with the underground fence.
