Wired or Wireless Dog Containment Systems?
Most of the dog owners who are concerned about the safety of their dogs use dog containment systems to fence their yards where the dogs are allowed to stay. Basically, these are electronic systems that provide for aversive stimuli in the form of a loud beep followed by a safe, mild and painless electric shock delivered from the transmitter placed inside the house to the collar around the dog’s neck. This system starts on the moment the dog approaches the invisible boundary set up around the designated containment area.
The proven rationale is that the dog will soon associate the unpleasant sensations provided by the aversive stimuli with the necessity to stop crossing the invisible boundary of the electronic fence
As millions of pet containment systems have already been sold in the whole world, millions of dog owners benefit of their results. These benefits include the following:.
• Your dog will have better protection against road accidents, animal run-ins and other possible mishaps borne of being outside a designated safe area. You will save this way the time, trouble and money dealing with these accidents involve.
This is possible for two reasons. Firstly, the beep issued by the collar is loud enough, so you can hear it and command your dog to stop or come back.
Secondly, the dog itself will be amazed by the warning beep and interrupted in its activity.
If it continues, the electric shock follows and it will surely dislike the feeling and stop.
This will keep your dog out of the way of cars passing on the road or of other animals wandering around.
Call your dog to you every time you hear the warning beep.
• Just a single shock is often sufficient for any dog to learn of the association between his bad behavior and the possible consequences. You can adjust the level of shock that will be delivered to your dog depending on its size, its temperament and the general circumstances surrounding the attempt to cross.
While the training progresses, your dog will need lesser intensity of the electric shocks.
For example, during the initial stages of use, you can set the shock at its maximum setting and then lower it to the minimum setting when your dog has been trained to respond to the beep alone.
• You will save all the time, money and effort required to build a material fence.
These physical fences require maintenance expenses and real property taxes that you will also save.
You don’t need another system for another safe containment place, just move the transmitter on the center of the new containment area and install the sensors on its borders. You only need to set the transmitter ON after you have put the proximity sensors on the borders of the safe containment area, and the whole dog containment system is ready to keep your dog within the house or yard or other place you want it to be safe.
These dog containment systems allow pet owners to have peace of mind that their dogs have lesser risks to be exposed to accidents as well as lesser opportunities to run away, do damage on the neighbors’ property and get into other mischief outside of the house and certain areas of the yard
