Principles of Bark Control
Dogs will be dogs and they will always bark because it’s part of their nature. Having said so, dog owners have the responsability to train their dogs to reduce their barking to a pace that’s acceptable in the area where they live. If they are constantly howling or barking it is going to get on your nerves and also everyone else around you. That is why the topic of bark control is so important. Fortunately for dog owners everywhere who are dealing with this problem, there are some great bark control products and ideas available.
The Anti Bark Collar
If you are trying to find a method of bark control that will work with your dog, the anti barking collar is one of your best bets. With the existence of several models of collars that use different methods of correction, you will always find one that will suit your dog’s personality, as well as your pocket. Everyone has a different view on all the different bark control collars.
The shock collar is one of the most effective ones; however it has somewhat of a bad reputation since many people believe the shock is too strong or painful, which is not actually true.
If you feel a little wary about the shock dog collar you can always try a harmless one that is just as effective such as the citronella dog bark collar. This collar has a built-in microphone that “hears” when the dog barks, and it corrects it by spraying the dog’s muzzle with a bit of citronella smell. You may be familiar with this as it is the same smell that is used to repel mosquitoes in the summertime.
The biggest selling point of the citronella collar is that it eliminates the need of electrical shocks, in case you object to them, while at the same time, being effective in reducing excessive barking.
Training School
Dog collars are definitely the easiest way to handle intolerable barking. Even so, some dog owners will still prefer to have a trainer from a dog school teach their dogs bark control discipline. This option is the most expensive one, but it’s also the best one if your dog is not responding well to any other option you try.
Just remember to keep the bark control collar on them afterwards so they still remember not to bark
Most bark control collars have settings that allow you to turn off them off. It’s recommended that you do this to give your dog a rest, or to let him bark at intruders at night.
