Misconceptions About Dog Health Care And More

Pet owners believe different things about their cat health care and dog health care practices, but not all of them are true, so it is worth evaluating what is right and what isn’t before its too late. Naturally, pet owners want the best for their pets, but a series of bad decisions or incorrect knowledge could bode badly.

Misconception 1: Is neutering dogs and cats bad?

Wrong! In terms of cat health care and dog health care, neutering is actually very good and it can calm the animal down and make it a more relaxed pet to be around. There are some that feel that neutering turns the animal into a couch potato. Neutering can cut down on the risk of wandering outside and never returning, and in essence it makes dogs and cats a little more ‘homesick’, which can be quite comforting to see. There is some research being conducted to determine if neutering can shorten an animal’s lifespan, but there is no sufficient evidence at present to suggest this is correct.

Misconception 2: Dogs know when they have done something wrong

Trust us that this isn’t true. Dogs are like children and they say you should treat an animal like it is a 2 year old child, which is why some dogs do not understand when they have done something wrong. The best way to tell your dog it has done something wrong is to make sure it gets pointed out. If you don’t do this, how can it ever learn? Try and shift your voice to sound angry rather than getting high-pitched as this relates too closely to happy sounds. Don’t hit your dog though, as this is very bad pet ownership. No pet owner should lay a hand to a dog and think that it is an acceptable part of dog health care; for it quite simply isn’t. Mistreating cats is also not advised – no cat health care practice should involve this.

Lets bear in mind that there are many things you can end up believing about dogs and cats, but be sure to check out the truth before putting any dog health care or cat health care practices into motion. Trust in your vet to steer you in the right direction so you don’t end up believing any more misconceptions.
